2025 Toyota Camry : Everything We Know

The updated 2025 Toyota Camry is the subject of a lot of speculation. The new 2025 Camry will most likely be aimed at dethroning the Tesla Model Y, the best-selling vehicle in the world. New spy photos are interesting and hint at a new styling direction that is inspired by the Toyota Crown. Camry is facing stiff competition, so a new model will need to be better.

2025 Toyota Camry Redesign

Toyota engineers are currently working on a brand-new Camry for 2025. The new car is expected to be unveiled sometime in the spring of next year. Camry is Toyota’s best-selling vehicle and one of the most popular cars in the entire world. Any update to it will be a big deal. The current model has been in production since 2017 and is starting to look outdated compared to its rivals.

Honda Accord and Kia K5 are the two Camry competitors that have recently seen updates. Both the Hyundai Sonata and Subaru Legacy are expected to receive updates shortly. These cars can now carry up to five adults in comfort and near-luxury, with excellent gas mileage.

Honda Accord was the Camry’s main rival and it underwent a complete redesign in 2023. The Accord’s reputation has been built over decades, and the new design isn’t perfect. Four of the five trims are only available in hybrid form. The only gasoline-powered version is the EX base model.

Specs

New Accord Hybrid trims are equipped with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 204 horsepower. The Accord can keep up with the traffic and achieve a gas mileage of 48 in the city, and 51 on the highway. The interior of the Accord is now more sporty and modern with a 12.3-inch touchscreen option. The new Camry will match or surpass many of the Accord’s features and optionalities.

Although most of us would’ve said “Gimme a trunk!” only a few short years ago, Tesla’s Model S and its liftback design have taken off. Many are now tuning into this design. It’s logical because there is more space in the trunk. The spy photos don’t provide much information about the height of the new Toyota Camry 2025. If it copies some of Crown’s styling, then we would expect it to also be taller. The Crown is a near-SUV with its high driving position, and styling that suggests a crossover. All these changes will be important. In 2023, the Camry is no longer the top-selling vehicle in the U.S. as Tesla’s Model Y has taken its place.

Engine

We expect a wide range of choices for the engine in the new Camry. In lower trims, the car comes with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder and in higher-end models, a 3.5-liter free-breathing V6. The four-cylinder engine with 203 horsepower is likely to remain, but the V6 does not fit in well with Toyota’s current hybrid focus. We expect that it will be discontinued.

Toyota’s hybrid lineup is a sure bet that a Camry Hybrid return will happen. The Camry Hybrid currently has an electric motor coupled with a 2.5 liter naturally aspirated, producing 208 system horsepower. We expect that, given the fact that the Prius has a power output of up to 196 horsepower, the next Camry will have a little more under the hood. No one wants to lose out to a Prius.

2025 Toyota Camry Price & Release Date

The price is not yet known, but it has long been a popular choice for buyers looking for something reliable, affordable, and spacious. We wouldn’t be shocked if the price of the new Camry was a little higher. The current Camry is priced at $27 415. It’s safe to say that the base model will not be exceeding $30,000 in price. We expect the Camry Hybrid to start just above $30,000.
