If you are looking for a more modern alternative to the midsize car, then consider the 2024 Kia K5. The Kia K5 was introduced in 2021 to replace the midsize Optima. According to reports, the K5 will undergo a complete redesign when it enters its 4th model year. Kia has not announced anything yet, but this is what we imagine the 2024 Kia K5 to look like.
2024 Kia K5 Redesign
Kia will not likely change its trim levels and engine lineup. Therefore, the LXS GT-Line EX or GT should stay the same. All models except the GT will have supercharged four-cylinder engines. The GT’s 2.5-liter turbo-four-cylinder should remain. We would like to see a hybrid engine, but it is unlikely.
Exterior
The Kia K5’s 2024 exterior style is a departure from the typical sedan. The K5 has a sporting appearance and a sporty intensity that rivals the Mazda 6. The Kia K5 package comes with a sports front bumper and rear bumper, LED taillights and headlamps, LED turn signals on the exterior reflectors, an 18-inch alloy wheel, and a rear spoiler.
Interior
The Kia K5 Interior Line 2024 has a high-quality build with a variety of materials that are superior to any other vehicle. Durable materials are placed far away from areas that will be touched frequently to maintain a premium appearance. It is ideal for long journeys because the interior is relatively quiet. The Kia K5 2024 line features regular faux leather fabrics, upholstery, a flat-bottomed steering wheel with a suede wrap, and a power-adjustable driver’s chair.
Engine
It may not be surprising to you that the base engine of the 2024 Kia’s K5 is 180 horsepower, but this is enough for everyday use. This engine is the same as that of the Honda Accord for straight-line acceleration. It takes 8 seconds from a stop to 60 mph. It takes more distance to stop from 60 mph, but the braking is smooth and easy.
The majority of K5 models are powered by a four-cylinder 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with 180 hp, paired with an automated eight-speed gearbox. Four-wheel drive was available only on the GT-Line. Front-wheel-drive was standard. The full-Monty GT version features a 2.5-liter turbo-four-liter engine that produces 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque.
Infotainment & Connectivity
The 2024 Kia K5 GT Line features an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and six audio speakers. It also has four USB ports. The GT-Line Premium Package adds a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen with built-in satellite radio and navigation. It also includes a wireless charger for smartphones.
Safety and Driver Assistance Features
The 2024 Kia K5 GT Line comes with several safety features, such as front collision avoidance and lane departure warning. The GT-Line Premium Package adds Highway Driving Assist (HVA), Intersection Collision Mitigation (ICCM), Evasive Steering Assist (ESA), Adaptive Cruise control, Rear Automatic Breaking, and a Surround-View camera system.
2024 Kia K5 Release Date and Price
Kia hasn’t stated when or how much the 2024 Kia K5 will cost. The car will have more details available nearer its release date. The 2024 K5 could debut this fall, and the price is expected to increase from the current sedan’s $26,415 starting price with delivery.
