The updated 2025 Toyota Camry is the subject of a lot of speculation. The new 2025 Camry will most likely be aimed at dethroning the Tesla Model Y, the best-selling vehicle in the world. New spy photos are interesting and hint at a new styling direction that is inspired by the Toyota Crown. Camry is facing stiff competition, so a new model will need to be better.
2025 Toyota Camry Redesign
Toyota engineers are currently working on a brand-new Camry for 2025. The new car is expected to be unveiled sometime in the spring of next year. Camry is Toyota’s best-selling vehicle and one of the most popular cars in the entire world. Any update to it will be a big deal.
The current model has been in production since 2017 and is starting to look outdated compared to its rivals. Honda Accord and Kia K5 are the two Camry competitors that have recently seen updates. Both the Hyundai Sonata and Subaru Legacy are expected to receive updates shortly. These cars can now carry up to five adults in comfort and near-luxury, with excellent gas mileage.
Honda Accord, Camry’s main rival, underwent a complete redesign in 2023. The Accord’s reputation has been built over decades, and the new design isn’t perfect. Four of the five trims are only available in hybrid form. The only gasoline-powered version is the EX base model. New Accord Hybrid trims are equipped with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 204 horsepower.
The Accord can keep up with the traffic and achieve a gas mileage of 48 in the city, and 51 on the highway. The interior of the new Accord is much sportier and more modern with a 12.3-inch touchscreen option. The new Camry will match or surpass many of the Accord’s features and optionalities.
Interior
The infotainment system will feature a larger display, with better graphics and Toyota’s latest operating systems. The system combines Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, voice recognition, connected navigation, and software updates over the air. The Crown and new Prius are likely to inspire other trinkets, such as a smartphone-based remote entry and a digital instrument cluster.
Engine
According to rumors, the New Toyota Camry will ditch its current 3.5-liter naturally-aspirated V6 engine and replace it with a turbocharged four-cylinder 2.4-liter engine that generates around 265 horsepower (198 kW) and 310 lb.-ft. (420 Nm).
Exterior
The front is dominated by sleek LED headlights in a boomerang shape, trapezoidal grille graphics that contrast, and a hood that doesn’t resemble a Camry. The large wheels are pushed to the corner, enhancing the dynamic stance. Smooth side surfaces provide sufficient tension for the lower door and shoulder line.
The rear is defined by muscular thighs, a full-width rear LED lighting cluster, tapered decklids, and beautiful rear quarter glasses, along with a lower diffuser panel flanked on either side by the quad exhaust.
Competitors
Camry’s main competitors are the redesigned Honda Accord and Subaru Legacy. They also include Nissan Altima. Kia K5, Hyundai Sonata, and Nissan Altima.
2025 Toyota Camry Release Date
At this point, the timing of the disclosure is not known. Some experts suggest that the model will be released as a 2024-2025 next year.
