The new 2025 Cadillac XT5 midsize crossover will feature a completely redesigned exterior, a redesigned interior, a platform that has been updated, and much more. The next-generation 2025 Cadillac XT5 is exclusive to China.
The 2025 Cadillac XT5 is heavily camouflaged, especially around the doors, spoiler, and rear of the car. The 2025 Cadillac XT5 is covered in heavy camouflage, especially around the front fascia, doors, and rear end from spoiler to valance. While these placeholder headlights don’t represent the exact lighting components that will be used on the production model they do give an idea of the vertical arrangement of these lights to either side of the grille. The grille is a good example of this new design. We can see it behind a small gap in the camo. It closely resembles the updated 2024 Cadillac XT4.
This 2025 Cadillac XT5 has one significant difference from the previous prototype: the wheels are arranged in six sections, each with three spokes. The split-spoke design of the prior prototypes is gone. The 2025 Cadillac XT5 is about the same size as its predecessor, but the interior will be completely redesigned and feature a large display that spans the instrument cluster up to the center console, similar to the 2024 XT4.
According to our latest information, the 2025 Cadillac XT5 won’t be available outside China where it is being developed. The 2024 Cadillac XT5 will continue to be sold in North America without major changes, and it will eventually be replaced by the all-electric Cadillac Lyriq.
2024 Cadillac XT5 Driving and Handling Impressions
The 2024 XT5 has a lot of power, but it’s not a car for drivers. The Luxury and Premium Luxury trims offer a superior ride, but the higher trims sacrifice comfort. The mediocre handling in these trims has been replaced by a much more engaging driving experience with the top-tier Sport. It comes with larger wheels and an adaptive suspension. It will never be as fast or practical as an X3 and Q5, but in the right configuration, it can still be a fun and useful city cruiser. This does mean that you have to forgo the four-cylinder engine which is cheaper and lacks character. The good build quality helps to manage wind and road noise.
What do you think of the 2025 Cadillac XT5 SUV?
The XT5 used to be a leading competitor in its segment. However, that was a long time ago. Its lack of updates has made it a disappointment on many fronts. The interior is spacious, but cluttered with cheap materials that take away from the overall experience. The base engine, while not bad, is not very engaging. Even the V6, which costs more, does little to improve the situation. The standard features are excellent and the safety ratings are superior. However, there are many more modern systems available on cars in the USA. The 2024 Cadillac XT5 is not a good buy at this time. However, waiting for the new model could be worthwhile.
What 2025 Cadillac XT5 model should I buy?
We would choose the Premium Luxury with the V6 engine if we had to buy the XT5. Sport’s larger wheels ruin the ride and handling, which isn’t enough to justify the higher price. The Premium comes with a variety of nice-to-haves, including leather upholstery, sunroofs, and additional driver assistance features. If you live in a warm-weather state, then FWD is the way to go.
What is the price of the Cadillac XT5 2025?
The 2025 Cadillac XT5 has a price that is comparable with its premium competitors. The base Luxury starts at $43,895. The Premium Luxury model adds $50,195 to the price, and the Sport, with its standard V6 engine, is priced at $56,795. The MSRP of the Cadillac XT5 does not include taxes, registration fees, or the $1 395 destination fee.
