Jeep’s subcompact SUV won’t be getting a complete redesign anytime soon, despite being around for almost eight years. It appears that the company will keep the current model in production until it is completely replaced by a successor all-electric. The current model will continue to be produced for several years, so we can expect updates in order for it to stay competitive.
The officials have not yet commented, but we assume that the model for next year will receive some minor updates similar to the Brazilian model. The model would receive a couple of updates in terms of style, as well as a few new features regarding standard and optional equipment. Some sources speculate even about the new plug-in hybrid engine. We don’t think that the Jeep Renegade 2024 will arrive earlier than normal, despite the possible updates. We’re expecting to see it in the fourth quarter of this year.
2024 Jeep Renegade Redesign
The company will update the model to keep it current. We will most likely see a minor facelift similar to the one introduced in Brazil with the model year 2023. This update saw some reshaping of the hood, extending to the upper areas around the grille and the headlights. There was also a new front bumper with a new design and new fog lights. We don’t anticipate any major changes to the rear.
Mechanical changes should not be made. The suspension and chassis setups remain the same, ensuring a comfortable ride with a softer ride. The Renegade also offers decent off-road capability. All models are equipped with all-wheel drive, and versions such as Trailhawk add various upgrades, including traction control, skidplates, hill-descent controls, higher ground clearance, etc.
Interior
Also, interior updates are possible. The dashboard could use some updates. We can assume that the 2024 Jeep Renegade would bring a digital instrument panel, a new screen for infotainment, and certain revisions to the center stack. We might also see the usual updates such as interior color schemes, new materials, etc.
The cabin design will remain the same despite the new updates. The layout will remain the same, as well as the seating arrangement and space. The Renegade has two rows of seating, and despite its subcompact size, it offers a lot more space for adults. The boxy shape of the Renegade allows for plenty of space in the second row, which is not always the case with subcompact SUVs. The second-row cargo space is around 18.5 cubic feet, and the overall cargo volume is around 50 cubic feet.
We’ve already mentioned that the 2024 Jeep Renegade could come with some technological updates. For example, a digital instrument cluster. The infotainment could also be updated, and we might see some new tech and convenience items on the list of standard features.
Most things will remain the same despite the updates. The current model includes an 8.4-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HD Radio, a satellite radio, a six-speaker stereo system, remote keyless access, push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate controls, and a USB port. Upgrades like ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, a 9-speaker sound system, keyless entry, and remote start are also available. Some of these features could be included as standard equipment.
Engine
The current model comes with a 1.3-liter turbo-four engine that produces 177 horsepower, and 210-pound feet of torque. Overall performance is excellent, but the 9-speed auto is not the right match for the small but powerful engine. This may also explain the poor fuel economy of the car, which is only around 23 mpg for city driving and 29 mpg for highway driving.
Sources also speculate on the addition of a new plug-in hybrid engine. This version was already introduced in Europe and uses the same turbo-four engines, which are backed up by an electric motor for a combined power of around 240 hp.
2024 Jeep Renegade Release Date and Price
