The Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD pickup truck will be updated for the 2024 model year. The Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck 2500HD will get a new design, a luxurious interior, modern tech features, and upgraded powertrains. There are some new features in the 2024 Silverado 2500HD.
The LED light design for the front 2024 Silverado2500HD is more conservative and has a C-shaped shape. The large grille with the word “CHEVROLET” that split the grille’s top and bottom sections is gone. A standard grille with Chevrolet’s bowtie emblem has replaced the grille. Chevrolet now offers tow hooks as standard equipment. Chevrolet’s pickup comes standard with dual-projector headlamps, which can be animated. Silverado 2500HD now has more features than 1500.
The Silverado 1500’s interior design has been matched by the 2024 Silverado 2500HD. The truck’s bulky, old center console has been removed. The truck’s old, bulky center console is gone. It now features a modern design that has the central console almost flush with its dash. The touchscreen houses the physical controls while the HVAC controls can be found on the console’s bottom. Silverado 2500HD interior materials will be more durable than the ones used in the previous model year.
2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Redesign
Interior
Chevrolet has yet to provide a complete list for the 2024 Silverado 2500HD. We do know that the pickup truck will have a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.4-inch central touchscreen. The infotainment system will also include Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play Store. It will also offer wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will have two engines. Two engines are available for the Chevrolet Silverado 1500: a 6.6-liter V8 and a turbo-diesel 6.6-liter. The gas-fed V8 generates 401 horsepower and 464 lb/ft torque. The diesel engine produces 470 HP and 975 Lb/ft. You can pair the engines with an automatic transmission with 10 speeds. When properly equipped with a diesel engine, the Silverado 2500HD can lift 22,500 pounds.
Chevrolet will offer the 2024 Silverado 2500HD with adaptive cruise control and trailer-side blind zones alert, GCW Alert, and surround-view camera with transparent trailer mode. It also includes a rear cross-traffic alarm, automatic emergency brake, lane departure notice, and lane-keeping assist. Because the Silverado2500HD is a heavy-duty truck, we don’t expect it to have advanced safety features.
Exterior
Silverado 2500HD will look old upon its 2020 arrival. Towing and payload capabilities are more important than interior design and cutting-edge tech features. Although they were older, the Ford F-250 Super Duty and Ram 2500 offered similar performance and had better cabins. It was important to quickly shift Chevy’s priorities.
It is better to be tardy than never, we believe. The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD will get all the interior, exterior, and powertrain upgrades it deserves. The exterior will get a fresh look thanks to horizontal bars that reduce the bulky grille’s weight. New LED accent lights have been added to the Silverado HD exterior. These accent lights also give the Silverado HD a unique look at night. While the primary headlights are still in a 4-beam arrangement they are now separated by a bar running across the grille. This creates a more cohesive overall effect.
Engine
The 2024 Silverado 2500HD has two engines. The standard engine is a 6.6-liter gasoline-powered V8 that produces 464 Lb-ft of torque and 401 horsepower. The same engine power is used in this year’s model, but the 10-speed Allison transmission replaces the six-speed Hydramatic six-speed. The model’s total weight rating has been increased from 24,000 to 26,000 lbs. For most crew-cab models, there are also increases in the maximum towing capacity.
For serious buyers, the Duramax 6.6-liter Turbodiesel Duramax will be more appealing. The Duramax 6.6-liter turbodiesel Duramax produces 470 horsepower, and 975 lb-ft torque, which is a significant improvement on last year’s 445 HP & 910 lb-ft. Max Trailering packages can increase towing capacities up to 22,500 pounds, compared with the previous limit of 18,510 lbs.
Technologies System
The significant cabin improvements made by the Silverado 2500HD are what we love most. The interior design of this heavy-duty workhorse is the same as that of the 2022 Silverado 1500. The 2500HD has a horizontal layout for the center stack and the screen, which used to be vertically oriented. The new touchscreen measures 13.4 inches diagonally. The new touchscreen also boasts a high-resolution display that is almost as good as its predecessor. It was quick and easy to use in our Silverado 1500.
Other enhancements include climate control and rear air vents, a new console, wireless charging stations, and real wood trim for the upper models. The adaptive cruise control can also be used while towing is now possible. Transparent Trailer is now available to fifth-wheel and gooseneck trailers. Multiple cameras are used to create an image on the touchscreen. This gives the illusion of being able to see through your trailer. Blind-spot warning systems can also be used to account for trailers while towing. The new sensor system will alert you when you approach the vehicle’s GCWR.
Trim levels
You can buy the 2024 Silverado 2500HD in several trims, including Work Truck, Custom, LTZ, and High Country. Some new features are available. The optional blacked-out Midnight Edition package will be available on the High Country. It is also available on the LT and LTZ.
Later in the model year, the ZR2, an offroad-oriented ZR2, will be included in the lineup. The ZR2 will include the all-terrain tires and upgraded dampers, as well as the front- and back-locking differentials that can be selected by the driver. Keep checking back for additional information.
