BMW is a firm that has come under scrutiny recently. It’s mostly due to the controversial design language for its vehicles and SUVs. However, things are changing in this area and BMW has been able to get us excited with the announcement that a brand new model, the 2025 BMW M5 Touring is on the coming. It will be an added model to the brand new seven-generation BMW’s renowned sports car. BMW has only released a handful of teaser photos from M5 Touring. M5 Touring, and it is obscured to hide its features. We can however be extremely excited about what’s coming from BMW, the German manufacturer. Particularly since the USA was left out of an M3 Touring a couple of years back.
2025 BMW M5 Touring Redesign
As you’d think, BMW hasn’t revealed all the important details about the model, which is the M5 Touring. Their press release about the new model claims it’ll offer “uncompromising long-distance comfort and impressive spaciousness.” In the nitty-gritty, BMW says it will include a hybrid engine under the top of the new super wagon. This could be the exact engine that is in the BMW XM SUV. It is a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine that has an electric motor. It is also available in an uprated version as Label Red. It could not take much time to have this brand-new vehicle out on the road, but. BMW is announcing that a road test of its M5 Touring is taking place over the coming days. The test will take place on roads that are public in Munich and the M headquarters in Garching, Germany, and at the renowned Nurburgring racetrack. Therefore, we can expect a ton of spy shots to be coming in shortly with as much detail of the 2025 BMW M5 Touring vehicle as it is feasible. BMW says it will offer M5 Touring will offer typical M-performance characteristics, along with the typical precision-tuned performance of the chassis that we’ve been used to from BMW’s M products.

While it is a brand-new feature in the next-generation M5 lineup, however, the M5 Touring isn’t the first BMW in any way. The original M5 Touring was launched back in 1992 and was built on an earlier version of the M5 Sedan. BMW came out with its M5 E61 Touring in 2007 and its powerful V10 engine underneath created an extremely powerful vehicle. One that could be capable of transporting you to family vacations as well as letting you enjoy a different kind of supercar performance. Today, the E61 is available for sale at more than $30,000.
Engine & Performance
The announcement of the brand new 2025 BMW M5 Touring is sure to excite people in the US market. Although it’s not yet announced where or when it will be coming, however, it is expected that the M5 Touring would fill in the gap left by the M3 Touring. The station wagon is equipped with a twin-turbo, six-cylinder engine similar to the one in the underside of BMW’s BMW M3 Competition. It puts out 510 horsepower and 479 pounds of torque. Its 0-62 mph acceleration time of 3.6 seconds and top speed of 155 mph indicate that the M3 Touring’s performance is not slowing down. However, as we all know that it’s likely that the United States won’t be getting its hands on this powerful car.
BMW USA turned down homologizing the standard BMW 3 Series wagon before the company approved M3 Touring. When the news was made public that it was too late for BMW USA to go through the process of homologation due to financial reasons. BMW was also of the opinion that the market for enthusiasts that would have been interested in buying the vehicle was simply not big enough for their needs. The cost of homologating and constructing the vehicle for the USA might be too expensive to warrant the returns BMW had anticipated. Therefore, there’ll be a lot of hope that this M5 Touring makes its way to the USA.
2025 BMW M5 Touring Rumors
The brand new 2025 BMW M5 Touring will serve as a significant boost for BMW which has endured its share of criticism in the past couple of years. A large part of this is due to the controversial design style that it has used for a number of its vehicles. The massive grilles have put people under their skin, but so have the higher proportions of a few of the company’s latest vehicles. The latest BMW 4 Series drew a significant amount of criticism from people when it was first announced because of its increased beltline.
The criticism, however, hasn’t come from the angry public. The world-renowned designer of cars Frank Stephenson produced a video about the BMW XM and asked “What is going on with BMW? !” in response to the BMW XM that was launched at the closing of 2021. Stephenson was the person who designed the first BMW X5, so he might have more reasons than the rest of us to be unhappy with BMW’s style of design that it has adopted. BMW has decided to simplify its design language to be more appealing in the upcoming future and it appears that the upcoming M5 Touring could be an element of that.
The all-new M5 Touring is part of the 8th generation of the BMW 5 Series, and the athletic M5 was spotted in testing due to numerous photos of the spy. The front fascia appears to have lost the big grilles seen on the latest BMWs. The angled intakes are an obvious feature and so are the triangular openings at areas of the front fascia’s corners. The more intricate details are concealed due to the camouflage wrap which means we’ll be waiting a bit longer before we look at the entire details. The M5 is expected to have quad exhausts at the rear.
BMW hasn’t announced when the brand-new 2025 BMW M5 Touring will be available, however, we can anticipate that it will launch simultaneously or after the M5 itself is released. The M5 is expected to be available in 2024. This is also the time when the M5 Touring is expected to arrive and we hope it will arrive simultaneously with the sedan.
