2024 Hyundai Elantra N Adopts a Clean New Look

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra was already a new model. Now we have official photos showing the refreshed front of the performance-oriented Elantra. Although we are still waiting for mechanical details, we think the Elantra will retain its turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and its dual-clutch transmission.

2024 Hyundai Elantra N Review

The N-specific trim, larger air intakes, and slimmer headlights are all part of the new look. The “H’ logo is now in black and two new wheel designs are shown on these images. One has a silver five-spoke design with a circular pattern, while the other features a black 10-spoke style. Hyundai has not released photos of the Elantra N’s interior. However, the Elantra N could offer new trim options and infotainment upgrades.

Engine

We don’t expect the Elantra N to change significantly in 2024. It is currently powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine with 276 hp. We hope it will still come with a 6-speed manual transmission, and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic as an optional option.

Dynamic Design

The new dynamic design is distinguished by the refinement of the nose cone styling. It’s an older, more mature look that is less controversial than the model from 2023. It’s bolder even than the Elantra that it replaces. The car features a signature LED lighting pattern that spans the front, similar to what is seen on other models in the lineup.

Hyundai Motorsports has also developed other innovations. N-specific strips of red are found on the bumpers and side sills. The Hyundai badge has also been color-matched to black, enhancing the sporty exterior. The boat tail spoiler has been enlarged to increase the downforce at the back, which emphasizes the aerodynamic design of the IONIQ 5

Exterior and Colors

Hyundai Elantra N’s exterior design before the facelift was bold and innovative, but from certain angles, it appeared a bit wacky. It’s still a very eye-catching design, but it looks much more refined. Hyundai reduced the size of the grille and simplified the headlight design. They also added a horizontal bar for the front lights. The result is an improved front end. The grille appears to be divided into two sections with a darker central section.

A lower red accent strip reminds you that this Elantra is the sportiest of them all. We noticed that when the car was first revealed, the hood closed line looked a bit out of place as it did not align with the headlights. The Hyundai emblem now comes in a black-anodized finish, instead of silver. This will be the new standard for all N models.

Along the side, you can see the new 19-inch wheels and the red lower detailing. Deep creases on the doors are also carried over from the model before the facelift. The changes at the rear are more subtle, as the taillights remain edgy and the wing is still present. The diffuser panel has been replaced and the reflectors are now higher. The dual exhaust outlets that are fitted on each side of the vehicle remain the same. While we do not know if the Hyundai Elantra N will be available in all of the current colors, this model shows that Performance Blue is likely to remain. The N model tends to only have a limited number of colors, such as Ceramic White or Cyber Grey.

Interior and Cargo

When the 2024 Hyundai Elantra was unveiled, no official interior images were released. The cabin of the new non-N Avante, the Elantra in Korea is called the Avante, does not appear to have changed much. Elantra N has a 10.25″ touchscreen and a digital gauge cluster of the same size. It’s quite competitive when it comes to tech. The Hyundai Digital Key is also included, as are wireless device charging and Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. A Bose eight-speaker sound system is also available. The 2024 Elantra N could come with some minor updates to this area.

Hyundai Elantra N seats will likely be similar to those of the current model, which are made from a mixture of leather and Alcantara and feature an illuminated N-logo. Other sporty features that are likely to be carried over include an N steering wheel and alloy sport pedals. Hyundai Elantra’s cargo space should be the same as it is not a new model. Hyundai could improve the versatility of the Elantra N by adding a split-folding back seatback. The current Elantra N has a single-piece bench that makes it difficult to transport both a passenger in the second row as well as a large item of luggage.

Dimensions

The dimensions of the new Hyundai sedan Elantra N will probably only be slightly different from the previous model. The 2023 model, for reference, has a length of 184.1 inches, a width of 71.9 inches, and a height of 55.7 inches. The 2023 model has a wheelbase of 107.1 inches and weighs up to 3,296 lbs when equipped with a dual-clutch transmission.

Gas Mileage

Assuming that the powertrain is untouched, the 2024 model should match the 2023’s EPA-rated gas mileage specs of 22/31/25 mpg city/highway/combined with the manual, and 20/30/23 mpg with the DCT. With a manual transmission, a 12.4-gallon tank of gas should provide 310 miles, and an automatic 285 miles.

2024 Hyundai Elantra N Price & Release Date

The price of the Hyundai Elantra is not known, as are many other details about the car. The current 2023 Elantra starts at $32,900. This means that the new car could cost about $34k, based on its updates in line with standard Elantra models. Honda Civic Si is a sedan rival that will be cheaper ($28.500 for 2023) and less powerful (200 horsepower). The Volkswagen Golf GTI is a better match in terms of performance for the Hyundai. It has 241 horsepower and starts at just over $30,000.

Hyundai will soon release details about the Elantra N 2024 in the U.S. The Elantra N will likely be available on American shores in the second half of this year, with a price that is a little higher than its current $34,015 starting price.
