The Ford Taurus was retired from the U.S. after 34 years of almost uninterrupted production. This marked the end of an era. The Taurus brand is still used in China where the Ford CD4 Platform can be used for that model. It also continues to be used in the Middle East where it has been the most-sold nameplate for the past five years.
The brand-new 2024 Ford Taurus, which is a rebadged version of the similar new Chinese Ford Mondeo has been revealed for the Middle East. Here’s all you need to know about this new Taurus.
2024 Ford Taurus Redesign
Exterior
The 2024 Ford Taurus, as we mentioned, will be sold in the Middle East as a rebadged version of the Chinese Ford Mondeo. The Taurus model will feature the same striking exterior design as the Chinese Ford Mondeo and will use the same CD4 platform. New LED daytime running lights with LED headlights and a sleeker front fascia will give the Taurus model a more modern look.
The grille is prominent, and the bumpers are also new. The rear section features LED taillights as well as a light bar. You can find the Taurus badge on the trunk lid. It will have lots of silver accents so it looks stylish. We’re still waiting for more information about the trim levels and other features, such as wheels.
Interior
The new 2024 Ford Taurus interior will be very upright. It is a very comfortable and pleasant place to be. The standard 8-inch digital instrument cluster will be available on this sedan, as well as a 13.2-inch infotainment screen. Blue Oval will also offer a wireless charging pad and a two-tone dash. Similar features can be found in the rebranded Mondeo model.
We know that the interiors of the new Ford Evos model and the Lincoln Zephyr model will be similar. Although the Taurus will be slightly larger than the Mondeo, the underpinnings of both models will remain the same. The upper trim levels will offer more luxury. However, the base model will still be very luxurious.
Engine
The new Ford Taurus 2024 will feature a 2.0-liter engine, as we anticipated. The turbo-four EcoBoost version comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The engine is expected to produce approximately 240 horsepower. Ford could offer this engine as an option. However, the standard engine will provide less power and better fuel efficiency. The Taurus SHO may be available. It’s an iconic, high-performance version that could be equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 360 horsepower and 350 lb-ft.
2024 Ford Taurus Release Date & Price
The 2024 Ford Taurus will be around $30,000 more or less. The high-performance Taurus SHO will likely cost closer to $50,000 if it ever arrives. Taurus will be available in the Middle East and will share many features with Ford Mondeo. The model is expected to arrive in the middle of next summer.
