Stellantis is currently working on a brand new 2024 Fiat Panda Electric, available in Europe and operating since 2012 with no major modifications to the design. The Panda is part of the category of city cars that is struggling for survival in Europe because of what car manufacturers think is a lack of regulation on emissions and safety issues which is causing prices to rise dramatically. The next generation Panda the powertrains are scheduled to incorporate all-electric and combustion The renowned nameplate occupies the third spot in Fiat’s B-Segment lineup.
2024 Fiat Panda Electric Redesign
Based on an Autocar report, which was published on 4 April 2022. Francois said that the next-gen Panda is being developed as well as other larger and smaller hatchbacks/crossovers that carry that Panda DNA. It is believed that the Centoventi idea was known as CC4 (City Car-4 ), where the 4 is 4th generation Panda). The concept was presented to the public. Fiat stated that it was pushing to create the electric Panda because it could have to pay hefty regulatory penalties if it didn’t meet its future CO2 targets. The company developed the Centoventi concept using similar technology as 500 Electric.
In the Centoventi concept, the batteries were placed underneath the car’s flooring (this is done by the service network that is on the production vehicle, Fiat said), making removal and installation simple. A battery that was placed under the seats has also been spotted in the concept Fiat electric car that the company claimed could be charged and disconnected directly at the home of the user. Modular battery systems will call for a custom platform, which we do not see as an element of the new plan at Stellantis and it’s possible that the design aspects could be used to design the prototype.
Platform & Specifications
As per the article by L’Argus, The 2024 Fiat Panda Electric will be based on the same platform that powers the Citroen C3 of the fourth generation for Europe. This is likely referring to the second-gen eCMP platform which supports the Jeep Avenger revealed in September 2022. The 2024 Fiat Panda Electric will be a technical version of C3 Electric. Citroen C3 Electric, according to the French newspaper’s findings. The former may have identical batteries and motors. To give an example the Citroen model is expected to be offered in a standard model with a 60-kW motor and a 40 kWh battery and a higher-end variant that comes that comes with an engine of up to 80 kW as well as an encapsulated 50 kWh battery. The 50 kWh battery can provide a WLTP distance of 400 kilometers (249 miles).

The next-generation Fiat Panda should have an entirely new interior, with sleek dashboards and less physical controls. Expect a digital instrument cluster that is paired with a touchscreen system for infotainment that includes 5G connectivity as well as the ability to wirelessly connect Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto and OTA updates. Mobile Drive, a new 50/50 joint venture between Stellantis and Foxconn located in the Netherlands is expected to develop “breakthrough digital cockpits,” and the Fiat Panda EV could get the standard version. The new technology arm is responsible for telematics, infotainment, and cloud platform development. The software innovations it will be introducing include 5G communication AI-based apps, improved OTA services, e-commerce possibilities, and smart cockpit-based integrations.

According to reports, the production of the next-generation Fiat Panda, which will be the first 2024 Fiat Panda Electric, will start in late 2024. On the 28th of April 2022, Stellantis announced it will install a brand electric vehicle-based platform in its Kragujevac factory in Serbia and will manufacture a yet-to-be-named alternative to Fiat 500L based on it beginning in mid-2024. “This new platform dedicated to electric vehicles will perfectly match the products in the A, B, and C categories and will improve the efficient and clean urban mobility solutions of our brands,” Stellantis’ CEO Carlos Tavares said.
On the 23rd of September, 2022 L’Argus published a report that stated the Kragujevac factory will be the primary source for production of the next-generation Panda. The debut of the first Panda Electric will take place in 2024, at the end of the year according to the report. It is expected that Panda Electric will likely be the second electric vehicle produced by the Serbian production site, and 500L is the sole product produced at present. In May of 2023, a local magazine Serbian Monitor reported that production of a brand new electric vehicle would start in the third quarter of 2024.
