Updates and developments have been made to the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq, considering that it would be the first electric ride for the variant. The thing about electric SUVs is trending these days, so auto manufacturers need to step up their games to be worthy when going against one another. It would be designed as an exclusive and luxurious type, with a predicted price of around $63,000. What would the development be? How good will the future Lyriq be? How promising is it?
2024 Cadillac Lyriq EV
This first-ever full-electric ride would be thoughtfully designed to meet electric lovers’ demand and won’t be cheap. The vehicle would be coming in two configuration offers the single motor rear wheel driving system and the dual motor all-wheel driving system. The RWD would be provided at around $63,000, while the AWD would be higher in price, about $65,000. If you want extra perks, such as 19 speaker sound system, SuperCruise, and other optional packages or accessories, you may be spending $75,000. However, buying Lyriq would make you eligible for a (federal) tax credit which can affect the pricing sales to $7,500.
Because there is no information about the available trim levels, we can’t tell what the Lyriq has in store for buyers. However, some sources say that it would be similar to XT5 and XT4, which means that you can expect Premium Luxury, Luxury, and Sport trims. There may be a possibility of a Platinum trim level too, but we can’t be sure before Cadillac makes the confirmation.
RWD and AWD Setups
As mentioned before, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq would come with one motor (located on the rear axle), while the dual motors would be found on both the front and rear axles. The RWD would be able to generate 325 hp and 340 Nm of torque, while the AWD is expected to churn out 500 hp, but Cadillac hasn’t strictly provided the actual numbers for this. Because the new Lyriq would be constructed on the Ultium Battery platform, it has a low center of gravity and 50-50 watt eight distribution. The electric ride would come with five-link suspensions (front and rear), allowing independent tuning. The vehicle will have its driving mode selectors, with available Sport, Ice/Snow, Tour, and a customized ‘My Mode’.
2024 Cadillac Lyriq Range
The platform is claimed to cover 312 miles of destination with electric juice only. This isn’t groundbreaking or impressive, but it’s pretty good, considering that you run entirely on electric power. GM has manufactured different kinds of EVs with a Ultrium battery system, so it speaks volumes about its quality and performance. For instance, Hummer EV uses an Ultium battery (and the platform) to support its implementation.
The company claims that the Lyriq would likely come with a total battery capacity of 102 kWh, making it logical for the vehicle to cover 312 miles of area. But you must remember that 312 miles estimation is likely applicable for the RWD version. It also means that if you choose the more powerful (and heavier) AWD version, it’s likely that the car won’t be able to reach 312 miles. It’s even possible that it comes less than 300 miles.
Fast Charging Quality
The upcoming Lyriq will have level 2 (home) charging, allowing you to travel up to 52 miles when plugging in the car for an hour. Unfortunately, this mode is only applicable to the RWD version. This vehicle also supports fast-charging DC. In just around 10 minutes, you can travel up to 76 miles of distance, regardless of using the AWD or RWD. For further info about the release date or price, we still need to wait for more updates on the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq.
