Rumor has it that the upcoming 2024 Buick Envision would be coming to the market. There is a possibility of the 2024 model rolling out in the future. After all, Envision has always been known for its driver-focused features and elegant design. It’s also a good alternative option for those wanting to get the more inexpensive picks of luxury names, like Audi, Beemer, or Mercy. A lot have touted it as the more feature-rich and modern cousin of Chevrolet Equinox, so, what can the future Envision offer to us?
About Envision
This is Buick’s compact SUV that is entirely manufactured by GM and SAIC joint venture, intended for both North American and local (Chinese) markets. The Envision was first introduced as a small crossover in 2011 with advanced technology, big switchblade doors, and plug-in hybrid technology. Then in 2014, the production version was unveiled for this 5-passenger vehicle. The debut took place in America in 2016 during North American International Auto Show.
The Updated Plan
If everything happens as planned, the 2024 Buick Envision would come as the second generation. The current gen was debuted in 20220, offering 4 trim levels Base, Essence, Preferred, and Avenir.
Powertrain and Performance
The current Envision only offers one powertrain, the four-cylinder turbocharged unit of 2.0-liter capacity, delivering 228 hp, which goes along with an auto 9-speed transmission and standard front-wheel driving system. The fuel economy is 24 mpg for the city and 31 mpg for the highway for the front wheel type, and 22 mpg for the city and 29 mpg for the highway may stay the same.
Even with the base trim, the Envision is breathtaking. The interior cabin isn’t only plush, but impressive. If you go with the highest trim, the Avenir, you get a similar offering that you can equally compare to Audi X5, BMW X3, and Mercy GLC class. The upcoming Envision is said to maintain high-end features and nice finishing, like the automatic on and off LED headlights or keyless start and open. There is even a possibility that the new Envision would have bigger (infotainment) touchscreen and also an instrument (cluster) display, so it is something worth waiting for.
2024 Buick Envision GX
Buick is offering Envision’s three-row version in the Chinese market, known as Envision Plus. This version was introduced at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show, and it’s possible that Buick would include it in the lineup as the GX trim. Considering that GM has filed the GX trademark in the US, it’s most likely that they are going to include it in their new lineup. In case you don’t know, the GX label is about a bigger variant of the Buick model.
Buick Encore, the sub-compact SUV, is one of the Buick models that has got the GX treatment. Known as Encore GX, the vehicle is created as a bigger version of the (regular) Encore. Plus, it is more modern. The target is buyers who want to have a bigger ride with more spacious cabins. If the plan is proven to be true, then the Envision GX would be placed above the regular Envision, but under the Buick Enclave (which is the three-row SUV).
Price and Release Date
Unfortunately, there is no information about Envision GX. Updates about the regular Envision itself are very limited and scarce. There is no clear notion about GX creation or whether Buick is going to make one either. Because of the limited info, we can’t tell you the release date and price of the 2024 Buick Envision, so I guess we should wait and see.
