The Acura ZDX will be a game-changer for the Japanese automaker. Acura ZDX 2024 will be a new electric SUV based on the Acura Precision EV concept. Acura hasn’t released any information on ZDX. Acura has not released any information about ZDX. Honda and General Motors formed a partnership to develop electric cars following the success of the Chevy Bolt. Honda has partnered with General Motors to develop the best electric vehicle possible.
The 2024 Honda Prologue SUV and the Acura ZDX will have a close relationship. Acura vehicles tend to be more luxurious and expensive than Honda’s counterparts. Expect the ZDX trim level to be higher than the Honda Prologue. Acura ZDX’s top trim levels in 2024 will probably approach 300-mile driving ranges. Equinox EV’s maximum horsepower is 580. Acura ZDX should have the same horsepower output as the compact electric vehicle that GM also develops (in part).
2024 Acura ZDX EV Review
Acura’s first electric vehicle will be launched in 2024. It will carry the familiar ZDX name. Acura confirmed on Thursday that it will be bringing back the old SUV name, which was either loved or hated. The company also said a more powerful 2024 Acura Type S ZDX EV is on the cards. The “Z” in the “ZDX”, is supposed to represent “zero emissions,” and it fits with Acura’s -DX naming scheme for SUVs. In an interview, Emile Korkor told me that when Acura’s vice president of sales, Emile, envisioned the vehicle, they didn’t see it as a continuation of one model line. The fact that it begins with a “Z” is perfect.
Acura has confirmed that its first EV will launch in 2024 and will be named the Acura ZDX EV in 2024. Also coming is the ZDX Type S, which will be more powerful. The ZDX uses the same electric architecture that was developed jointly with General Motors and Honda for the Honda Prologue. Acura plans to launch its own EV platform in 2026. The goal is to become a 100% electric car manufacturer by the year 2040.
It was a car that was way ahead of its time. The style isn’t everyone’s cup of tea (although I love it!) It’s a crossover coupe, which is a body style in fashion these days. Korkor claims the new ZDX is also a stylish vehicle. Its design language was also previewed by Acura Precision EV, which debuted at Monterey Car Week Thursday.
The ZDX, when it is released in 2024, will be based on the same architecture for electric vehicles as the Honda Prologue that General Motors and Honda are jointly developing. The Acura ZDX EV 2024 will use GM Ultium battery technologies and be positioned between the RDX MDX crossovers. Acura’s electrification strategy begins with the Acura ZDX-EV 2024. Acura has renamed the 2024 Acura ZDX EV to be used for the first electric crossover that the brand will release in 2024. The company was excited about the new model, which would “feature many stylish themes” that were introduced in the Acura Precision Electric Vehicle concept. The automaker did not reveal any details but stated that the Acura ZDX EV 2024 will be co-developed by GM, using their Ultium platform, which is used for the Cadillac Lyriq EV, Chevrolet Blazer EV, and GMC Hummer EV. Acura has also confirmed plans for a ZDX Type S that promises to place “driver experiences first.”
Acura Design Studio, Los Angeles is building the 2024 Acura EV ZDX. They also built the original model. Emile Korkor is the assistant vice president for Acura National Sales. He stated that the new crossover represents the beginning of an accelerated path towards electrification before the end of the decade, and the role Acura will play as part of our global goal to achieve carbon neutrality by the year 2050. “He added, “Acura’s focus will be on performance and electrification in the age. The Type S will represent this direction.”
The Acura ZDX will be a crossover with a dynamic style and a Diamond Pentagon grille that can include lighting, as shown in the Precision EV concept. The interior can be eco-friendly, as the concept makes use of recycled plastics and Forest Stewardship Council-certified wood trim. Acura’s most daring model is back! The ZDX nameplate is back in the US, more than 10 years after the Sportback left the market. The new 2024 ZDX will not share many similarities with the MDX. It is also the brand’s very first electric vehicle.
Acura ZDX 2024 is a result of the partnership between Honda and General Motors. Considering GM’s investment in electric vehicles over the years, it may be a good thing for Honda and Acura. Acura’s 2024 ZDX shares more than you may think with the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV. This is because GM provided the technology before Acura designed its electric SUV. The Chevrolet Blazer EV is available in a variety of configurations with a driving range totaling 320 miles. The ZDX-2024 is unlikely to exceed the EPA’s 200-mile range. The Type S badge will be on the 2024 Acura ZDX fully electric.
The 2024 ZDX Type S, with two motors and AWD, will likely have over 500 hp like the Blazer EV SS trim. The Type S ZDX could reach 60 mph in under 5 seconds during Motortrend’s testing. We’re eager to know. The added performance is accompanied by a new look that will set the ZDX Type S aside from other versions. The image could include oversized 22-inch alloys, a sportier front fascia and rear bumper and Type S badges on the inside and outside.
2024 Acura EV ZDX Refresh
Honda’s slow production of electric vehicles is no secret. The Japanese automaker is collaborating with Tesla to create a popular EV. Honda Clarity Electric Vehicle (EV) was a flop after consumers complained about its poor driving range. The decision by the automaker to partner with General Motors to develop an EV platform was a wise one, despite the controversy surrounding the Chevy Bolt’s battery fire.
Expect the Acura to be able to deliver enough power and range for it to become the new electric flagship of the brand. At the moment, competitive electric vehicles have a range of at least two hundred miles. According to GM’s EVs, and industry standards in place today, the 2024 Acura EV is likely to have a range of between 220-300 miles.
The Acura ZDX electric SUV is inspired by the Precision EV Concept and shares a common platform with the Honda Prologue EV and Chevrolet Blazer EV. Acura just announced that the first all-electric vehicle from the brand will debut in 2024. This vehicle will be an SUV that revives the ZDX brand. The Precision EV concept shown by Acura during Monterey Car Week in 2022 will have a major influence on the design.
It’s worth noting that the electric SUV will be built on the same Ultium platform as the Prolog EV and Chevrolet Blazer EV. Acura also says that it will be releasing a version of the Type S that is performance-oriented for the ZDX. There are currently several options in the electric-SUV market. Concept
Acura’s ZDX moniker will be used for its first EV in 2024. It will be offered in a Type S sporty variant. According to Acura, the ZDX shares a similar theme as the Precision EV Concept which was unveiled at this year’s Monterey Car Week. The designers in Los Angeles are still working on the final look of the ZDX, so we don’t know yet which features will be included in the production version.
General Motors Ultium will be the platform used by Acura in 2024. Acura’s powertrain and battery specifications are still unknown. GM says that this foundation is capable of supporting batteries ranging in size from 50 to 200-kilowatt hours. Acura’s future EVs will be designed around the Precision EV concept shown above. The company claims that the shape was designed to look like a speedboat cutting through the water.
Rumors suggest that GM’s Spring Hill plant in Tennessee may be assembling ZDX by 2021. The same plant that produced the Cadillac Lyriq is where the ZDX will be built. Honda will also be releasing an electric vehicle on the Ultium Platform. The Prologue is expected to be available in early 2024 before ZDX arrives in showrooms. It will also have a brand new design language, like Acura. Acura confirmed for the first time in the ZDX announcement that it will launch an EV based on Honda’s e: Architecture platform by 2026. The Honda badge model was launched in the same year. These basic models do not have any technical information.
Interior
Acura has also shown interior renderings for the Precision EV Concept. The interior has a steering wheel with a yoke shape and a small digital screen at the top. The cockpit-like design is reminiscent of racing cars. The infotainment display is angled towards the driver. The driving system is unique. In Instinctive Mode the entire cabin is red and the steering wheel moves towards the driver. The Spiritual Lounge mode, on the other hand, activates autonomous driving by pulling the wheels back to the dashboard and activating the blue underwater lighting motif.
Performance and Platforms
General Motors’ Ultium platform for electric vehicles offers a high level of flexibility when it comes to delivering different drivetrain configurations. The Chevrolet Blazer EV is available in three drivetrain configurations: front-wheel, rear-wheel, and all-wheel.
Even though the Acura ZDX is likely to use the same platform as the Acura RDX, we believe this electric SUV may only be available in front-wheel and all-wheel-drive formats. The standard 2024 ZDX is likely to come in an all-wheel drive layout with a front layout. The Type S will only be available in all-wheel drive.
The Ultium platform is capable of providing a maximum range of 320 miles on a single battery charge. The standard Acura ZDX electric vehicle will probably offer a range that is close to this. It is too early to speculate about the horsepower and torque numbers associated with this EV. We do, however, know that the electric engine in the Blazer EV’s performance-oriented SS Class can produce 557 horsepower. Expect the Acura Type S to offer similar performance with a shorter range than 300 miles.
Exterior
Acura’s Precision EV concept car, which was recently unveiled, gives us a glimpse of what the ZDX SUV 2024 will look like. The show car is inspired by the Italian luxury motorboat and features a sporty, angular silhouette with character lines. Exterior. Both the Honda Prologue and Precision EV concepts have similar proportions, as well as a similar look. The Ultium platform will be shared by both Prolog and ZDX in their respective production versions. We expect ZDX to have a more aggressive look than Prolog.
The Precision EV concept shows us not only the exterior design of the Acura ZDX EV 2024 but also what to expect in the interior of this electric vehicle. Acura claims that the interior of the show car is heavily inspired by Formula 1 racecars. It features a low-slung driving position, as well as aggressive interior design elements. It is also worth noting that the steering wheel has two spokes. It remains to be determined if this feature of Precision EV will make it into the production version 2024 Acura ZDX EV.
Features
The cabin ambiance mode is another interesting feature that we can see in the ZDX-2024 electric SUV concept. Instinctive Drive Mode or Spiritual Lounge Mode are two modes that change the mood in the cabin using interior lighting, screens, and scents. Acura ZDX, as an electric vehicle is expected to use the same eco-friendly materials. The concept car’s plastic trim is made of recycled marble while the leather is 100% biomass. All aluminum and wood panels come from responsibly sourced sources.
The ZDX electric vehicle is expected to include several premium features, including a sporty exterior, a luxurious, yet eco-friendly interior, and an engine that’s tuned for performance. It is expected to have a touchscreen infotainment and a fully digital instrument cluster.
Similarly, even though we cannot make concrete predictions yet, based upon what we saw with the Precision EV Concept, we expect the Acura ZDX EV 2024 to have a minimalistic cabin, where physical buttons will be replaced by touch-sensitive controls which provide haptic feedback. Acura’s ZDX SUV is a milestone as it paves the way for future electric models.
2024 Acura ZDX EV Price & Release Date
Acura wants to compete with the luxury compact electric SUV segment, but there isn’t yet enough information to know how valuable the ZDX will be. The Volvo XC40 Recharge will be competing with the Jaguar I-Pace and Audi Q4 E-Tron. The ZDX is the future of Acura, and the company will do all it can to make sure that it’s popular.
Cars and drivers expect the Honda Prologue to begin at $45K. Acura ZDX’s starting price could be as high as $55,000, based on the current EV price and Prolog’s estimated price. Acura has not yet revealed the MSRP of the ZDX 2020, but we expect it to be in the upper $50,000 range. With options, a ZDX Type S loaded with features can cost more than $70,000. Although it sounds expensive, the price will be comparable to other models.
