The styling and packages of the 2024 Acura RDX will be carried over from the predecessor. The compact crossover was updated in the middle of its cycle in 2022. The next-gen will not be available until 2025. Nonetheless, there are some big changes we could see in the 2024 YM.
The company must first improve its gas mileage. A hybrid option is the best way to achieve this. The hybrid option will give you a larger MDX and a Honda CR-V that can get 40+ mpg. The turbocharged 4-pot four-pot engine is quite powerful and produces good outputs. It is also quite thirsty, compared to other competitors.
Engineers can also create a 2024 Acura RDX Type S package that is performance-oriented. After its debut on the TLX sedan and the MDX SUV, this iconic badge is back in the lineup. The NSX sports coupe is a high-end vehicle with a price tag of $160,000, 520 horsepower, and a high-performance engine.
2024 Acura RDX Redesign
We are still waiting to hear about any new packages but the rest of our lineup remains the same. The Base edition will cost around $40,000. The company will not offer the classic trim levels but instead offers optional packages. For the base configuration, the compact crossover features big 19-inch wheels and a panoramic roof. Keyless entry, dual climate control, heated front seats, and a 10-inch touchscreen are some other highlights.
Features
Technology is the first bundle that you’ll see. Navigation is also included. The entry-level sound system is now replaced by a 12-speaker system with 9 speakers. The interior lighting enhances the luxury of everything, while leather seats make it more comfortable. The crossover has parking sensors at both ends.
The 2024 Acura RDX will upgrade the Technology package by adding larger wheels, fog lights, and ventilated seats to the vehicle. There are also exterior parts that will sport the vehicle’s appearance. These features are only available with the A-Spec package.
The RDX Advance offers top-of-the-line options. The ride is smooth thanks to the adaptive suspension. A remote ignition is an additional option. Wooden details are the main feature of the interior. The steering wheel is heated and the front seats are ventilated. You can also find the HUD. The company launched the PMC Edition last year for the small SUV. We will see if the package is returning for the 2024 season.
The legendary and old package is back. The Type R was expected to be part of the Honda lineup. However, it has yet to happen. The Acura performance models will be expanding in the meantime. The small crossover is now available.
Engine
We don’t yet know what the 2024 Acura RDX will look like. It is necessary to have a high-output engine. The MDX was limited to 355 horsepower. With 520 hp, the NSX is the most powerful Type S. Base version and has 272 horsepower. The RDX Type S would have around 350 hp. However, the V6 engine that the MDX uses is too large for the small crossover.
2024 Acura RDX Hybrid
This makes it necessary to reexamine all options. Could the hybrid 2024 Acura RDX be the Type S? Not impossible. It is not a secret that Honda is working on the PHEV system. It is expected to be in the new Pilot. The small luxury crossover could be a problem. The RDX can boost the outputs, but also address its greatest problem – poor gas mileage. A regular turbo-four can achieve 24 mpg combined. We expect more from a vehicle this small.
Specs and Fuel Economy
The 2024 Acura RDX still has a turbo-four 2.0-liter engine producing 272 hp under the bonnet. The power distributor is the ten-speed automatic transmission that automatically shifts it to the front wheels. The SH-AWD is one of the most important upgrades you can make. The luxury crossover’s fuel economy is a major drawback. It returns 22/28 MPG.
It will return close to 30 mpg if it is combined with a hybrid. It also has a maximum towing capacity of 1,500 lbs and 280 pound-feet torque. However, it is not what one would expect from a small luxury crossover that can haul large cargo.
2024 Acura RDX Price and Release Date
The launching date for the 2024 Acura RDX is being announced quietly as there have been no major updates. The crossover will be available in late 2023. We will soon learn more about the Type S specifications and what options the company has added. The price will certainly be higher. SH AWD will be less than $2,500 Type S, the most expensive model will cost you more than $60,000. The type of system engineers who are designing the crossover will determine the price of an RDX hybrid.
